NHS Innovation Expo 2009!

The EXPO will have high profile speakers, thinkers and practitioners, such as Edward de Bono and Martha Lane-Fox. It’s going to be a large and interactive event and will cover over 5000sqm at ExCel Centre in London Docklands, with over 80 major exhibitors, 20 keynote presentations and more than 60 seminars spread over 2 the days. The event will offer thousands of frontline staff, local influencers and decision makers across the NHS and social care the opportunity to learn, discuss, experience and share innovation.
MidTECH – NHS Innovations West Midlands will be represented at EXPO alongside the other 8 innovations hubs in the UK. We will be showcasing innovations from the West Midlands region on the NHS Innovations stand (no.39) in the main hall at EXPO.

The Institute of Digital Healthcare
The Institute of Digital Healthcare is a £4 million collaboration between NHS West Midlands, WMG and Warwick Medical School designed to deliver real and lasting benefits to patients and the public through the application of innovative digital solutions to a wide range of healthcare scenarios. Their stand at the Innovation Expo will be interactive and have a high visual impact. Featured on the stand will be: -

Medilink West Midlands
1 – Innovation House: Visit the Innovation House, developed in association with i-Health, and see how assisted living technologies will look in the home environment. Many of the products and technologies being displayed are directly from the i-House based in West Bromwich and are developed by West Midlands companies.
2 – From Bench to Bedside (stand 10): Come try out some new innovations which have been developed with assistance and collaboration from the TSB, KTN and local Medilinks (including West Midlands). Try out a new decontamination wand or have your leg imaged to see what pressure bandage would be most appropriate for your condition!
3 – Touchscreen kiosks: Spend 4 minutes taking an anonymous survey on your thoughts about technology in healthcare – and we’ll give you an i-Health USB stick man! The information gathered will be collated and shared with our PCTs and Local Authorities to help in the technology adoption process.
